Cupping is not exclusive to Chinese medicine, many other cultures practice it. It is great for sore, tight muscles.

There are several techniques, such as: static, sliding, & flash or empty cupping. It is very useful for improving local circulation and reducing toxin build up in stiff muscles, especially when muscular pain involves deep seated cold which has lodged in the tissues & joints.

I might use it in conjunction with acupuncture or Tui Na masage.
